Hi, I’m Tiffany Hopkins.

I have spent my career as the most technical person in a room of creatives and the most creative in a room of technical people. This ability to bridge intuition and analysis, ideas and implementation, numbers and stories, art and science, has led me to see the importance of closing the gap between technical performance and ethical impact in consumer products and services.

Meanwhile, a bout of malaria brought on a series of autoimmune conditions, which shifted my approach to work. As I confronted the realities of limited physical capacity, the subsequent isolation led me to learn everything I could about connection, helping me better understand how relationships create the world we know. I looked outside technology to places where tools and practices for connection had long been established. I studied and trained in trauma-informed research, disability justice, liberatory design, mindfulness, earth-based spirituality, and the traditions of my forbears. What I learned, over and over, was that the human-centeredness of my early training was more than a useful approach to solving problems. Putting people, and in fact the entire living world, at the center of my practice is what makes it work.

I've been doing this work on behalf of large organizations for 20 years. I'm finally taking the time to excavate exactly how it works and reverse-engineer it so individuals can try it on their own: taking a bit of intuition and turning it into a verifiable problem space, a potential solution, and a practical plan. This summer, I'll be launching a workbook, video series, and workshops for people who want to learn the method.

As I write and prepare to share my findings, I’m interviewing people from my network. Sign up for my newsletter or follow me on LinkedIn so I can send you an invite.

It can be hard to see the red thread in my career. What I love to do is jump into new or complex territory, map out the terrain by talking to people, and create the playbook. It takes excellent instincts to do this, but more than that, it takes a tried-and-true method based on meticulous documentation, rigorous analysis, orientation towards action, and dedication to excellent communication.
